Fractions
You need to learn fractions because you might need to split a pizza into fourths at a party and not know how to. You might mess up with a art project if you were supposed to fold the paper in half and fold it into fourths and ruin it. You never know.

Fraction- A part of any group number or whole.
example- 4/5 is a fraction.
Numerator- The number on top of the bar of the fraction that shows the number of parts in the whole.
example- 3/4 (3 is the numerator.)
Denominator - The bottom number of the fraction that shows the number of parts the whole is divided into.
example- 4/6 ( 6 is the denominator.)
Equivalent Fraction- a fraction that is equal to a different fraction.
example- 2/6 is equivalent to 1/3.
Mixed Number- A whole number accompanied by a fraction.
example- 2 1/2 would be a mixed number.
Improper fractions- a numerator that is bigger than the denominator (that means that the fraction is bigger than the whole.)
example- 6/4 would be an improper fraction ( it would be written as a mixed number).
